WYSA Teams Shine at Toyota National Championships
The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is proud to celebrate the incredible performances of our teams at the 2024 Toyota National Championships. Competing against some of the best talent in the country, our youth teams demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship, making us all immensely proud.
WPFC U15BPR1 and 1v1 Futbol Dreams U15GPR1
Both the WPFC U15 Boys Premier 1 and 1v1 Futbol Dreams U15 Girls Premier 1 teams fought fiercely in what proved to be extremely challenging groups. Competing against top clubs from across Canada, these teams showcased resilience and teamwork, ultimately placing 6th in their divisions. The level of competition was intense, but our teams held their own and represented Winnipeg's soccer community with passion and pride.
AK Academy U17BPR1
The AK Academy U17 Boys Premier 1 team showed tremendous heart in their pursuit of a podium finish. They advanced to the bronze medal match, where they faced a strong Edmonton BTB side. While the team came up just short in this contest, their fourth-place finish reflects their hard work and commitment throughout the tournament. The entire community applauds their effort and drive.
1v1 Futbol Dreams U17GPR1
The 1v1 Futbol Dreams U17 Girls Premier 1 team came to the National Championships with high hopes, chasing a consecutive gold medal after their remarkable success in 2022. In an epic final match against Edmonton BTB, the game was decided by kicks from the penalty mark after both teams played an intense and evenly-matched game. Though the team earned silver, their journey and performance were nothing short of spectacular, proving they are amongst the top teams in the nation.

The success of our teams at the Toyota National Championships goes beyond just the results. Whether they earned a podium finish or battled through tough group stages, each team represented Winnipeg’s youth soccer community with pride, passion, and an unwavering commitment to the sport. Their achievements are a testament to the strength of our clubs, coaches, and players.
We are incredibly proud of our athletes and how they have carried the flag for Manitoba on the national stage. Their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship continue to inspire the next generation of soccer players in our city.
