COME WATCH THE WORLD CUP AT THE LYRIC THEATRE!
Join us at Assiniboine Park on Thursday, June 18, for a special FIFA World Cup 2026™ Watch Party as Canada takes on Qatar. Hosted by Assiniboine Park Conservancy and supported by the Manitoba government and Winnipeg Economic Development & Tourism, this free community event will bring soccer fans, families, and the wider Winnipeg soccer community together to celebrate the beautiful game in a unique outdoor setting at the Lyric Theatre.
Pre-game festivities begin at 4:00 p.m., with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Fans can watch the match live on a giant outdoor screen while enjoying live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food and beverage options, and interactive soccer experiences hosted by local soccer organizations. The Fan Zone will feature music from DJ Chedda, bouncy houses, and soccer-themed programming presented by the Manitoba Soccer Association and Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association.
Admission is free and open to all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or collapsible lawn chairs, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Food trucks, concessions, and a licensed beer garden (18+) will also be available on site. In the event of extreme or unsafe weather conditions, the watch party may be cancelled. Come celebrate Team Canada and experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup with the community in one of Winnipeg’s most iconic outdoor spaces.
